** Minimum number of students required

  • Taught by highly experienced and qualified teacher trainers
  • NZQA Level 4 approved course completion certificate
  • 5 peer-teaching sessions with written and oral feedback and 3 assessed written tasks and homework
  • Performance reports from trainers and supported study time
  • TKT Young Learner module preparation
  • Work placement / work experience support provided and opportunities to work as a Teacher Aide at NZLC
  • Pre-course task provided
  • A primary school visit and lesson observations
  • Library visit to learn about their literacy support programmes

Cambridge English (University of Cambridge) Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT)

TKT is a test that focuses on the teaching knowledge needed by English language teachers.It is divided into separate modules and you will receive a certificate for each one completed.

TKT has been developed for people who:

  • Would like to teach English but have not yet started teaching
  • Are already teaching, but would like to take an internationally recognised qualification to gain formal recognition for their experience
  • Want to enhance their career opportunities by broadening their teaching experience into specialist areas
  • Want to keep their teaching skills up to date
